'A SANCTUARY IN THE CITY"

'A Sanctuary in the City"First Presbyterian Church Campaign

We’re starting a very important campaign! A couple of months ago, a communicaion on was sent to the congregation with a vision of First Presbyterian Church as “A Sanctuary in the City.” The Finance Committee and Session enthusiastically embraced the vision of continuing to grow our ministry and mission for generations to come. However, to do so requires meeting some challenges that also provide opportunities.

An initial plan was developed and presented to the congregation to address these challenges. However, before moving forward with a capital campaign, we first sought prayerful input and insight from some of our members through a feasibility study. This study has now been completed; the feedback provided by the interviewees is greatly appreciated and has been instrumental in
shaping the campaign.

Based on feedback from the feasibility study, the scope of our capital campaign has been re-scaled, focusing on two priorities: our immediate goal of retiring the debt, and the establishment of a building reserve fund for current and future building repair. A successful campaign will enable greater financial stability to strengthen programs of ministry and mission, allowing the church to move forward boldly with our vision of being  “A Sanctuary in the City.”
