Introduction
The Outreach Committee is a committee of Session that provides opportunities for church members to support our local and global communities. As Christ says in Matthew 25, when we feed the hungry, care for the sick, and visit prisoners we feed, care for, and visit him.
Outreach Activities
The Outreach Committee supports a number of ecumenical, interfaith and secular programs such as:
- Tutoring children (Edison Project)
- Feeding the hungry (Ministry with Community, Martha’s Table)
- Housing the poor (Open Doors, Habitat for Humanity)
- Ghana and Nicaragua Missions
- United Campus Ministry
- Promoting social justice (Michigan Organizing Project)
Participation
All church members are invited to participate in outreach activities. Meetings are usually at 7:00 pm on the first Wednesday of every month at the church.
