Introduction
Established in 2008, the purpose of this committee is to define strategies and policies, construct mechanisms for, and manage issues related to the internal and external communications of the church, including all printed material, digital media, and our image as a force for good in the community.
Participation
While expertise in matters related to the general principles of marketing and public relations, including page layouts, graphic arts, and copywriting is helpful, it is not a requirement to serve on the Communications Committee. A strong desire to improve the presence and public image of the church and an interest and desire for open communication within the congregation, and the production of quality media are all that are required to join.
Commitment
The Communications Committee is asking each joining member to make a two year participating commitment in order to maintain continuity within our longer running initiatives. The Committee currently meets on the second Thursday of each month at 12:00 pm. Members unable to make it to the church may be included by phone. Individual members will engage in research and creative efforts between meetings to advance Committee objectives. The majority of communication between meetings occurs via email.
