This program is part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and Faith Community Nursing (formerly Parish Nursing) in which registered nurses from the congregation counsel and plan activities for church members. The nurses are prepared to assess the needs of the whole person: psychological, physical and spiritual.
The Health Cabinet is a committee of Session which oversees the Health Ministry Program. Its mission is to:
-
Promote the stewardship of health for our congregation.
-
Promote the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
-
Recognize that health involves the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.
-
Facilitate the Parish Nurse ministry in coordination with the Deacons.
-
Oversee and support the Health Ministry Coordinator in meeting the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of our congregation.
