Meet Margaret E. Towner
- The first woman ordained in our
Presbyterian Denomination in 1956
- 50 years ago was invited to minister to
this Kalamazoo Congregation
- Served as Minister of the Sacraments and
the Word here thru 1969
- Led Kalamazoo youth on mission trips of
faith and adventure, 1962-1968
- Dean of Synod of Michigan teacher
education school at Alma College
- Courageous hospital chaplain in Indiana
and Wisconsin
- Co-pastor of Kettle Moraine Parish, in
Wisconsin for 17 ˝ years
- Holder of numerous elected positions in
the denomination
- Vice Moderator, 193rd General Assembly
(GA) of the Presbyterian Church
- Representative of GA to Korean Churches’
General Assemblies in Korea
- Recipient of numerous awards for her
service to the denomination
- Builder of an empowering and inclusive web of love, concern and caring
