The high school-age PeaceJam Club will have its first meeting this coming Sunday evening (Oct 7) from 6 to 7 in the Youth Lounge. Registration forms for the regional “PeaceJam Slam” event at WMU, scheduled for Saturday, Oct 13, will be available at this meeting

The PeaceJam Leaders group that began during the summer for 11-14 year-olds and heard Archbishop Desmond Tutu speak at Miller Auditorium has resumed meeting on Fridays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
This new youth fellowship program for students in grades 6 through 8 focuses on the lives and work of twelve Nobel Peace Laureates. Through group exercises, discussions, personal reflections, and service-learning projects in our own community, we hope to put the accomplishments and contributions of these inspiring people into the context of today’s world right here in Kalamazoo.

We welcome all young people 11 to 14 years old to join us every Friday. We also welcome high school and college students and adults who are interested in helping to lead and sustain this new program at FPC. Contact Karen Santamaria 385-4029 or karen3@chartermi.net). The evening begins with pizza and games, which follow rehearsal of the Youth Choir.
