2014 STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN - The Goodness of God’s House
As we enter into our 2014 Stewardship Campaign, it is time for all of us to ponder and pray about our ability to financially support the work of First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo. This is our spiritual home; it is important that we give serious thought to the ways we use our time, talents, and treasures to work for its ongoing maintenance and success.
By now you should have received the September Presbyter. It contains an insert about many of the activities that are supported by your contributions, and an explanation of how funds are distributed to these activities.
You will receive a letter and a pledge card for your use to indicate your pledge for 2014. Please return your pledge card by mail in the envelope provided, or place it in the Sunday offering plate some time this month. All pledges received to date were dedicated on Sunday, October 27.
Pledge cards are available in the Narthex and Gathering Place. Please feel free to pick up a pledge card if you have not received one in the mail.
SAVORING THE LECTIONARY: Sundays
What will the sermon be about today? How can I prepare my heart and mind to better receive the Word of God in the worship service? Please join other church members in our weekly Lectionary Class before Worship. We gather to observe basic facts about the Scripture (who, what, when, where, and how), interpret the meaning of the passages, and discover implications of the text for growing in Christ.
SERMON REFLECTION AND RESPONSE (“R&R”)
After the sermon each week, the preacher needs a little R&R! Worship is always a conversation we share in our hearts and minds with one another and God. You are invited to come to Room 301 following Worship to share reflection on the sermon and worship that day. All thoughts, observations, questions, responses, and/or alternative perspectives, are welcome as we engage the good news of God’s love with our lives and our world. See you there!
